Example letter

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am applying for the Data Analyst role. I enjoy turning messy data into clear answers, and my projects and internship have given me practical experience with SQL, Excel and Power BI.

During a two-month internship with a retail chain, I cleaned and analysed 18 months of sales data from eight stores. Using SQL and Power BI, I found that two product categories were overstocked in smaller towns, and the regional manager used my dashboard to rebalance stock for the next quarter. In my final-year project I analysed public air-quality data for five cities in Python and presented the seasonal patterns in a short report and dashboard.
