Embedded Systems Engineer (Fresher) cover letter example
For ECE and EEE graduates applying to embedded, firmware and IoT roles.
What to highlight
- Name the microcontroller, the language and the protocol you used.
- Show debugging skill: oscilloscope, logic analyser, a hard bug fixed.
- A working demo or GitHub repo is strong proof.
Example letter
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am applying for the Embedded Systems Engineer role. I graduated in Electronics and Communication Engineering, and I enjoy the point where software meets hardware: writing firmware that has to work reliably on a small device.
My final-year project was a cold-chain monitor for vaccine boxes built on an STM32 microcontroller in C. It read temperature over I2C, logged data to flash, and sent alerts over GSM when the temperature crossed limits. Debugging an intermittent I2C failure taught me to use a logic analyser and to read datasheets closely; the final version ran for two weeks without a reset. I have also worked with Arduino and ESP32, UART and SPI, and I keep my code on GitHub.
Your team builds firmware for connected devices, and I would value the chance to learn from experienced engineers while contributing to real products. I would be glad to discuss how I can help.
Sincerely,
[Your name]
